Deutsche Bank has continued the pan-European expansion of its db x-trackers ETF range by listing 21 products on Euronext Paris that provide exposure to developed and emerging equity markets, short indices, dividend strategies and overnight money market interest rates.

The new ETFs track indices from providers including MSCI, Dow Jones Indexes/Stoxx, FTSE International, Standard & Poor’s and Deutsche Börse.

There are five developed market funds: the MSCI World TRN Index ETF, MSCI Europe TRN Index ETF, MSCI Japan TRN Index ETF, MSCI USA TRN Index ETF and DJ Euro Stoxx 50 ETF.

The nine emerging markets ETFs comprise four regional funds, the MSCI Emerging Markets TRN Index ETF, MSCI EM Asia TRN Index ETF, MSCI EM LatAm TRN Index ETF and MSCI EM EMEA TRN Index ETF, and five individual country funds, the MSCI Brazil TRN Index ETF, MSCI Taiwan TRN Index ETF, S&P CNX Nifty ETF (India), MSCI Korea TRN Index ETF and FTSE/Xinhua China 25 ETF.

There are two dividend strategy funds, the DJ Euro Stoxx Select Dividend 30 ETF and the DJ Stoxx Global Select Dividend 100 ETF; two short index funds, the DJ Euro Stoxx 50 Short ETF and the ShortDax ETF, and three funds based on money market indices, the Eonia Total Return Index ETF (EUR), Fed Fund Total Return Index ETF (USD) and Sonia Total Return Index ETF (GBP).

Deutsche Bank’s db x-trackers platform was launched in January 2007 and is now the third largest provider of ETFs in Europe, attracting nearly EUR10bn in assets. Last year, db x-trackers ETFs had the highest inflow of assets among all ETF providers in Europe and had the three products with the highest inflows, the MSCI Emerging Markets Index, the Eonia Money Market ETF and the DJ Euro Stoxx 50, which are among the products listed in Paris.

With more than 70 products, the db x-trackers product range covers equity, bond, credit, currency, money market and commodity indices and includes ETFs on short indices, credit default swap indices, emerging markets such as Vietnam as well as overnight money market rates. Deutsche Bank says further db x-trackers ETFs will be listed on Euronext Paris during the first half of this year, while additional funds will be launch covering new markets and asset classes.

The db x-trackers ETFs are listed on Euronext Paris, Borsa Italiana, Frankfurt Xetra, the London Stock Exchange and SWX Swiss Exchange, and are supported by market makers that provide liquidity in the ETFs.

The ETFs are sub-funds of the db x-trackers and db x-trackers II Sicav umbrella fund investment companies domiciled in Luxembourg and are compliant with the European Union’s Ucits III directive on cross-border distribution of funds.

NextTrack, the Euronext market segment dedicated to ETFs, currently contains 265 ETFs representing more than 185 underlying indices, including 37 new funds since the beginning of 2008. The market saw growth of 130 per cent in transaction volumes last year and a daily average of more than EUR700m has been traded in the first two months of this year.
