Invesco PowerShares to list Emerging Markets Infrastructure ETF on NYSE Arca

Chicago-based Invesco PowerShares Capital Management has announced plans to list an emerging markets infrastructure portfolio on the NYSE Arca electronic market in October.

‘Emerging market countries building infrastructure necessary to sustain their economic growth have created enormous worldwide demand,’ says Bruce Bond, president and chief executive of Invesco PowerShares.

‘We believe the PowerShares Emerging Markets Infrastructure Portfolio will provide investors a precise way to capture a global group of companies responsible for construction and development of emerging market infrastructure using the benefit-rich ETF structure.’

The Emerging Markets Infrastructure Portfolio is an exchange-traded fund based on the S-Network Emerging Infrastructure Builders Index, which aims to measure the overall performance of securities of companies involved in infrastructure construction and development in emerging market countries.

The index covers companies in industries including construction and engineering, construction machinery, construction materials, diversified metals and mining, heavy electrical equipment, industrial machinery and steel.

Invesco PowerShares manages more than 100 US and international index-based and actively-managed ETFs with assets of some USD13.95bn at the end of June.
