The Nasdaq Stock Market has listed two new exchange traded funds sponsored by Barclays Global Investors, the iShares S&P/Citigroup International Treasury Fund and the S&P/Citigroup 1-3 Year International Treasury Bond Fund.
The International Treasury Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the S&P/Citigroup International Treasury Bond Index Ex-US Index, while the International Treasury Bond Fund seeks to replicate the performance of the S&P/Citigroup International Treasury Bond Index Ex-US 1-3 Year Index.
‘Barclays Global Investors is a leading global provider of investment management products and Nasdaq is pleased to list two more of their innovative exchange traded funds,’ says John Jacobs, an executive vice-president of the Nasdaq OMX Group’s global financial products business. ‘The listing of these products on Nasdaq ensures they will receive extremely high levels of support in order to maximise their liquidity and visibility.’
The funds are the first two iShares ETFs to list on Nasdaq in 2009, compared with eight iShares ETF listings in 2008 and five listings in 2007.
