The Nasdaq OMX Group and WisdomTree, an exchange traded fund sponsor and index developer, have announced that Nasdaq OMX PHLX has listed options on the WisdomTree Dreyfus Currency Income ETF family.

They are the first options based on actively managed ETFs.

Options are available on the following seven ETFs: WisdomTree Dreyfus Brazilian Real Fund; WisdomTree Dreyfus Chinese Yuan Fund; WisdomTree Dreyfus Euro Fund; WisdomTree Dreyfus Indian Rupee Fund; WisdomTree Dreyfus Japanese Yen Fund; WisdomTree Dreyfus New Zealand Dollar Fund; and WisdomTree Dreyfus South African Rand Fund.

The funds focus their investments in specific regions or countries, thereby increasing the impact of events and developments associated with the region or country which can adversely affect performance.

Investments in emerging markets are generally less liquid and less efficient than developed markets.

Investments in currency involve additional special risks, such as credit risk, interest rate fluctuations, derivative investment risk and the effect of varied economic conditions.

Unlike typical exchange traded funds, there is no index that the funds attempt to track or replicate. Thus, the ability of the funds to achieve their objectives will depend on the effectiveness of the portfolio manager.
