Assets in US listed exchange-traded funds and exchange-traded notes totalled approximately USD540.2bn at April 2009 month-end, an increase of ten per cent over March 2009 month-end, according to National Stock Exchange.

At the end of April 2009, the number of listed products totalled 844, compared to 719 listed products one year ago.

April 2009 net cash inflows from all ETFs/ETNs totalled approximately USD8.5bn. Year-to-date net cash inflows totalled approximately USD12.6bn, an increase of 59 per cent over the same time period in 2008 when year-to-date net cash inflows totalled USD7.9bn.

In addition, ETF/ETN notional trading volume totalled approximately USD1.6trn for April 2009, representing 33 per cent of all US equity trading volume.

The NSX monthly statistics include shares of open-end exchange-traded products, encompassing US listed shares of investment companies, grantor trusts, ETNs and commodity pools.
