Munder Capital Management, a money management firm serving institutional and individual investors, has promoted James (Jim) V. FitzGerald, managing director of distribution and chief marketing officer, to the newly-created position of president.
He will report to chief executive John Adams. The appointment is effective immediately.
In addition to retaining his current responsibilities, FitzGerald will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s growth plans.
"Munder Capital Management has enjoyed significant growth over the past five years, and Jim FitzGerald has played a major role in that success," says Adams, who is also Munder’s chief investment officer. "From the moment he arrived, Jim introduced numerous strategic initiatives that have resulted in significant revenue growth, increased profitability, and improved organizational efficiencies. A visionary leader, he is uniquely suited to ensure that Munder Capital Management is well positioned to succeed during this dynamic period in our industry’s history."
FitzGerald, 49, joined Munder Capital in 2004 as head of retail distribution. In 2007, he also assumed responsibility for institutional distribution and corporate marketing. FitzGerald was part of the management-led buyout team that in 2006 acquired Comerica’s interest in the firm in partnership with Crestview Partners, a New York-based private equity firm.
Prior to joining Munder Capital, FitzGerald was a senior vice president at MFS Investment Management, where he was responsible for all retail sales and marketing operations.
