Investment boutique T. Bailey has distributed a seven per cent yield to its equity income fund investors, representing 155 per cent of the current yield of the FTSE All-Share Index.

The current yield from the multi-manager fund has jumped 45 per cent from July 2008 to July 2009 (from 4.9 per cent on 1 July 2009 to 7.09 per cent on 1 July 2009) and has delivered a 14 per cent increase over the current year to date (from 6.22 per cent on 1 January 2009 to 7.09 per cent on 1 July 2009).

T. Bailey fund manager Jason Britton says: "Equity income is a hugely popular sector, particularly at the moment as the downward pressure on interest rates has decimated cash returns.

"Many equity income funds have had a tough time recently, so we are very pleased to be able to give investors in the T. Bailey Equity Income fund a yield of seven per cent at this time."
