TD Asset Management, the manager of TD Mutual Funds, has made a portfolio adviser change for one of its funds.

TD Asset Management, the manager of TD Mutual Funds, has made a portfolio adviser change for one of its funds.
Effective on or about 1 August 2009, Newton Capital Management will become a portfolio adviser to the TD Global Select Fund, which had over CAD540mi in assets under management as of 30 June 2009.
Newton, established in 1978 and headquartered in London, is a subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon. Together with its affiliated companies, Newton currently has over USD48bn in assets under management.
Newton employs an active bottom-up approach, seeking out well-managed companies with quality products or services, strong management, sound strategy and which are attractively priced. Its investment approach is founded upon the use of themes which represent the firm’s ideas about the likely forces of change in the world and the investment opportunities that may arise from them.
TDAM expects the appointment of Newton will enable a smooth transfer of responsibilities and continuity of investment management for the fund.

TDAM manages retail mutual fund assets on behalf of more than 1.4 million investors and TD Mutual Funds is one of the most broadly diversified fund families in Canada.
