Chi-X Canada, an alternative trading system for Toronto Stock Exchange-listed senior equities, has launched the ETF X Factor pricing programme.

With the new promotional programme, takers of exchange-traded funds liquidity on Chi-X Canada will see their charge reduced to CAD.0020 per share, while ETF liquidity providers will receive a rebate of CAD.0025 per share.

The new rates, which will run from 14 September 2009 through 16 October 2009, will apply to all Canadian ETFs available for trading on Chi-X Canada.

‘From our launch, a core tenet of Chi-X Canada has been our desire to pass along the benefits of competition to our participants,’ says Beth Haines, manager of client relations for Chi-X Canada. ‘Our March pricing promotion was a huge success both for the Canadian trading community and Chi-X Canada, and we’re excited to build on that by passing along the benefits of trading Canadian exchange traded funds with the ‘ETF X Factor’.’

Chi-X Canada is also introducing a new general pricing schedule from 1 September 2009. Stocks over CAD1 will apply a passive (maker) charge of CAD.0025 and an aggressive (taker) charge of CAD.0029. Stocks under CAD1 will apply a passive charge of CAD.0005 and an aggressive charge of CAD.0008.
