EasyETF has added to its credit toolbox with a third tracker on the European credit derivative market, named the EasyETF iTraxx Europe Main.

Its target is to follow the performance of the iTraxx Europe Main TR index as closely as possible, whether it moves upwards or downwards.

The iTraxx Europe index consists of 125 credit derivates evenly weighted in investment grade European companies with a rating higher than BBB- (Standard & Poor’s) or Baa3 (Moody’s).

The diversification rules for the index mean that companies in the main sectors of activity can be included.

EasyETF iTraxx Europe Main allows investors to gain exposure or hedge their credit portfolios, to introduce trading strategies or benefit from the outlook on the credit derivative market, while simplifying the regulatory and operational aspects involved in investing in these indices.

The market maker for EasyETF iTraxx Europe Main is BNP Paribas.

BNP Paribas and Axa Investment Managers signed an agreement on 20 May 2009 by which Axa IM transferred the operational management of the remaining ETFs (commodities, real estate, sector, credit and infrastructure) to BNPP AM, subject to the approval of regulatory authorities in France and Luxembourg.
