Cambridge Investments, a discretionary investment manager, has launched a master portfolio service which will invest within a specifically constructed portfolio of funds.

Those opting to take part in the service will allow Cambridge Investments to use model asset portfolios as the setting for the selection of best of breed funds, which are subject to regular scrutiny by the discretionary fund managers’ investment committee.

Following selection, individual portfolio fund constituents are kept under continuous review backed up by the quarterly investment management committee oversight. Re-balancing as required takes place every six months for the client in accordance with their initial objectives to ensure the client’s chosen asset allocation is maintained throughout the duration of the investment.

Each client will receive a report on the performance of their portfolio every six months with commentary related to the underlying funds and market overview.

The service comes with an annual management charge of 1.5 per cent plus VAT. Fees are collected monthly from the value of the portfolios and there are a range of commission options available for advisers.

The new service joins Cambridge’s premier bespoke discretionary service, available for clients with portfolios in excess of GBP200,000 and requiring a bespoke and hands-on approach to investment management, in association with their financial adviser.
