Deutsche Bank appoints UK head of ETF sales

Deutsche Bank has appointed Nick Shellard as UK head of exchange-traded fund sales.

Shellard, who has over a decade of experience in ETFs, joins from Barclays Global Investors, where he was previously head of iShares ETF sales for the UK and Switzerland.

Tim Hart, co-head of equity sales for Europe, says: “The UK is a strategically important growth market for ETFs. With initiatives such as the Retail Distribution Review approaching, there is a real opportunity for ETFs to become a mainstream retail investment product. Demand from institutional investors remains high due to their continued deployment as a low-cost, flexible and liquid tool within overall investment strategies. Nick’s appointment demonstrates Deutsche Bank’s commitment as the fastest growing ETF provider in Europe. We will continue to grow and develop our ETF range, and align our capabilities to our clients’ needs.”
