Cutler names Christopher Barry managing director of institutional sales

Cutler Capital Management has appointed Christopher R. Barry as managing director of institutional sales to lead its launch into the institutional marketplace.

To date, Cutler Capital has focused on high-net-worth investors. It operates two private investment funds, the Cutler Investment Fund and the Cutler Income and Growth Fund I, and manages individual portfolios.
“I see this as a great opportunity, given the strong long-term track record of the company and the outstanding performance of its funds during 2009,” says Barry. “Cutler Capital’s strategy is ideal for institutions that are looking to manage risk without sacrificing performance.”
Barry will be targeting endowments, foundations, family offices, wealth management offices and funds of funds throughout the northeast.
He previously was a senior member of the sales team and helped build the client base at Brighton House Associates of Marlborough, a data and service provider to the hedge fund industry. Before that, he served in various sales management positions at Jenzabar in Boston, joining as part of the original start-up team.
“With his knowledge of the institutional marketplace and his sales experience, Chris gives us an ideal opportunity to penetrate the institutional marketplace,” says president David Grenier. “His experience and the performance of our funds should provide a winning combination.”
