Ben Freeman and Nick Baker join Hearthstone Investments

Hearthstone Investments, a new venture that will be launching the Hearthstone UK Residential Tracker, has appointed Ben Freeman and Nick Baker as non-executive directors.

Freeman, a former finance director at Prupim, has worked with a number of property brands over the years including Savills and Helical Bar.

Baker, managing director of Adventis NMG, is an experienced brand and marketing professional and has worked with most of the UK’s leading financial brands.

The Hearthstone UK Residential Tracker aims to track the Financial Times House Price Index. The development of the fund and financial products based on it aims to make residential property widely investible to the retail market, from first-time buyers through to pension funds.

Freeman says: “Hearthstone offers an innovative answer to a long-term problem in the industry. It is an exciting business opportunity that will open a new way of investing in residential property and an important source of capital for developers. I look forward to working with a business that will deliver this much needed solution.”

Christopher Down, chief executive of Hearthstone Investments, adds: “Both Ben and Nick bring years of experience in the financial services industry to Hearthstone. Ben’s deep understanding of the issues involved with large-scale property investments will contribute to the strategic direction, compliance and risk management of the business. Nick, with his expertise in shaping successful corporate and product identities, will help to ensure that the business is well positioned to become a recognised and long standing UK financial services brand. The guidance of both Ben and Nick will be invaluable as we develop and build the business in 2010.”
