Altegris expands relationship management team

RELATED TOPICS

Altegris, a provider of alternative investments, has expanded its senior management team serving its client base of wealth management professionals.

Kirk Strawn, formerly director of intermediary sales at Man Investments, joins Altegris as national director of strategic relationships, to focus on registered investment advisers, trust companies, third party asset managers and broker-dealer firms.

Strawn will partner with John Scarcella, national sales director, who continues his role directing the team of alternative investment consultants serving wealth management and advisory firms that access Altegris’ platform.

"The Altegris platform of alternative investments is designed to provide access to premier managers, often at lower minimums than otherwise available. In addition, we develop custom tools and technology to meet the unique business requirements of independent advisers," says Jon Sundt (pictured), president and chief executive of Altegris. "We are pleased to have Kirk direct our strategic relationships team and focus on serving the key account requirements of wealth management firms. Kirk’s insight and knowledge gained from over 20 years of experience reinforces our commitment to the advisory community and singular focus on alternatives."

Previously, Strawn was responsible for the design, development and servicing of Man Investments’ national intermediary network, a position he held for more than eight years.

Prior to Man Investments, Strawn was managing director of institutional marketing and sales at ING Furman Selz Capital Management. He began his career at Lehman Brothers in New York, where he provided financial services to institutional accounts, hedge funds, and private investors.

"I am very excited about joining this truly impressive team and organisation," says Strawn. "Altegris enables financial professionals to seamlessly incorporate premier alternative investments into their clients’ portfolios. This approach is designed to create a true ‘win-win’ for clients and their wealth managers, which is quite unique in this industry. Through dedicated research, selective sourcing, ongoing investment monitoring and custom tools, Altegris is uniquely positioned as a partner for wealth managers who seek access to high quality alternative investments."
