Emergent appoints Kevin Nealis as chief operations officer

Investment management firm Emergent Asset Management has appointed Kevin Nealis as chief operations officer.

Nealis will assume responsibility for Emergent’s financial and business operations.

Nealis has 25 years experience in the financial industry across operations, accounting, prime brokerage, asset management, private banking and electronic trading.

He joins Emergent from Deutsche Bank where he was global head of the TMG global prime finance division and European head of TMG equities. He was previously head of Deutsche Bank’s European direct market access business.

Prior to this, Nealis worked for Goldman Sachs where he implemented their in-house portfolio accounting system and set up their Swiss banking operation in Zurich.

Susan Payne (pictured), chief executive officer, says: “Kevin’s appointment reflects Emergent’s further development as an institutional platform with a growing fund and product range. Kevin’s considerable experience in middle office, client services, business and systems management is invaluable in ensuring we have the best processes and risk controls in place as we continue to expand our business and client base.”
