His experience extends to his position as an executive council member for the banking industry body, the Isle of Man Banker’s Association, for which he has served for four consecutive years.

Andrew Henton, head of international businesses for Close, says: “I am delighted to have Graham on board. His appointment underlies commitment to our strategic plans regarding the development of our banking operations and competitive position.”

Sheward adds: “I will be looking to grow the balance sheet of the bank strongly in coming years and the conservative reputation of Close, its strong credit rating and trusted brand is an ideal starting point.”
