The Roosevelt Investment Group has hired David A. Chalfin as managing director of strategic planning and corporate development.

A 20 year veteran of the financial services industry, Chalfin will focus on growing the firm through acquisitions and strategic partnerships.

Roosevelt plans to leverage its distribution infrastructure by adding complementary products, investment capabilities and distribution channels.

"David is a great addition to our firm and we look forward to his immediate impact identifying companies to partner with that will complement our investment strategy and benefit from our increased portfolio and operational capacity," says Adam Sheer, president of Roosevelt.

During his career, Chalfin has sourced, structured and executed transactions with retail mutual funds, institutional and wealth managers, hedge funds, funds of funds and managed account firms.

Previously at New York Life, Chalfin led the acquisitions of Institutional Capital Corporation and McMorgan. He also managed the sale of New York Life’s healthcare subsidiary, NYL Care, and the sale of its controlling stake in Express Scripts, a pharmacy benefit manager.

At Asset Management Finance, he structured and executed the firm’s investment in Forest Investment Associates.

"I am very excited to join Roosevelt at such an opportune time. The firm is poised to continue its growth through an acquisition strategy that will leverage the considerable investments already made in its platform," says Chalfin.
