Charter Bank to change name to Charter Private Bank

Charter Bank, an affiliate of Boston Private Financial Holdings, will change its name to Charter Private Bank in keeping with the transition from a singularly-focused community bank to a locally-based private banking enterprise.

The bank provides financial services targeting successful individuals, families and their businesses in the greater Puget Sound area.

"We are very excited about the bank’s evolution towards private banking," says Jim Garvey, president and chief executive of Charter. "We have always been a relationship bank but with the addition of services including our private banking suite, mortgage, and mobile banking, the bank is able to strengthen and broaden its relationship with our clients more than ever before."
