Long-time portfolio manager Hank Mulvihill, Jr. has launched the Strategic Investing Long-Short Fund, a public no-load mutual fund that provides investors with an investing programme not usually available to the public mutual fund investor.
The fund may invest in any sector worldwide, may be long or short, and may go entirely to cash during a crisis to protect the investor.
As part of its launch, the fund will host 11 road show events open to the public. At each event, Fred Richards, an investor and entrepreneur for more than 50 years, and Mulvihill will present information on their investment strategies and provide an overview of the fund.
“We are in a financial boom right now that could result in new stock market highs. As long as the spread between federal funds and the ten-year US Treasury remains large, we should have good stock markets,” says Mulvihill. “We intend to take advantage of the current environment, but knowing these conditions won’t last forever, the fund will have the ability to go short or go completely to cash at any given time. It is designed to be flexible and responsive according to fluctuations in the market.”
The fund requires a minimum investment of USD1,000, which can be made through most brokerage accounts and investment advisers or directly online.
Richards is the founder of Strategic Investing, a web-based financial analysis service which displays live money portfolios.
