US listed ETFs and ETNs up almost 34 per cent on 2009

Assets in US listed exchange-traded funds and exchange-traded notes totalled approximately USD798bn at the end of May 2010, an increase of almost 34 per cent over May 2009 month-end when assets totalled USD594.3bn, according to the latest figures released by the National Stock Exchange.

As of the same date, the number of listed products totalled 995, compared to 829 listed products at the end of May 2009, while net cash inflows from all ETFs/ETNs totalled approximately USD6.3bn, with year-to-date net cash inflows reaching USD27.6bn.

 
NSX’s monthly statistics include shares of open-end exchange-traded products, encompassing US listed shares of investment companies, grantor trusts, ETNs and commodity pools.
