Highland Capital Management, an investment management firm based in Dallas, Texas, has hired Steven M. Delarosa as a managing director.

Delarosa will be responsible for managing the firm’s relationships with existing investors and developing and maintaining relationships with investment consultants across the globe.

This is a newly created position and Delarosa will be based in Dallas where he will report directly to Kevin Latimer, partner, head of business development for Highland.

"Steven has significant expertise in maintaining and growing relationships with key clients and consultants," says Latimer. "He is an added knowledge resource for our existing investors and will also ensure that new and prospective investors and consultants understand the merits of Highland’s product portfolio as well as our commitment to providing clients with high quality investment solutions."

"Highland is an exceptional asset manager with a history of providing focused investment products allowing investors to take advantage of special opportunities in the credit space," adds Delarosa. "I look forward to enhancing Highland’s investor relationships, leveraging the institutional relationships I have built over my career, and helping to install best of breed products that will help clients meet their investment objectives."

Delarosa has over 20 years of client service and marketing experience in the investment industry. He joins Highland following 11 years at Western Asset Management Company where he held three executive level positions in client service and marketing.

Before that, he served as director of investments at MFR Financial Resources, a private equity firm focused on Latin America.

Earlier in his career, he held the role of regional director at Old Northwest and pension specialist at The Principal Financial Group.
