BBVA Compass appoints wealth management regional executive for Central Texas


BBVA Compass has appointed John Jett as wealth management regional executive for Central Texas.

Based in Austin, Jett will serve the private banking, investment and trust needs of clientele in Austin, as well as San Antonio.

His new role is in addition to his current responsibilities as Austin City president for commercial banking where he continues to lead the commercial team as BBVA Compass grows its share in the market.

"With more than 20 years of experience in the wealth management industry and a track record of proven success, John is exceptionally suited to head up the BBVA Compass wealth management operations in Austin and San Antonio," says Bill Helms, BBVA Compass senior executive vice president and head of wealth management. "John brings valuable wealth management knowledge to this position and we’re confident that he will help us grow and strengthen our presence in both the Austin and San Antonio markets."

Jett will manage all aspects of the BBVA Compass Wealth Management Group’s products and services, including a full array of private banking services, and lending and depository services. He will also oversee fiduciary relationships as well as investment offerings, financial planning and investment portfolio management.

Jett began his career with First City Bank Austin after graduating from the University of Texas with a finance degree. Prior to joining BBVA Compass, he spent 20 years with Bank of America in Austin, where he served as president and senior bank executive.
