Sprott Asset Management is launching a suite of fixed income products.
There will be three distinct fixed income funds that will be spearheaded by industry veterans Scott Colbourne and Michael Craig.
Colbourne joined Sprott Asset Management in the spring of 2010 as senior portfolio manager and will be the lead manager of the Sprott Diversified Yield Fund and the Sprott Short-Term Bond Fund which are set to launch on 5 August.
He will also lead the investment decisions in managing the Sprott Absolute Return Income Fund, a long/short fixed income fund which will launch on 31 August.
Colbourne’s 22 years of experience in managing fixed income and foreign currency portfolios has included tenures as senior portfolio manager at TD Asset Management, head of fixed income at AGF Investments and senior trader at the Bank of Canada.
Craig, a quantitative and asset allocation expert whose 11-year career included tenures at TD Asset Management and PH&N, accompanies Colbourne as portfolio manager on all three funds.
"Throughout Scott’s career he has consistently demonstrated investment excellence. The combination of his investment acumen along with Sprott’s distinct investment culture represents an ideal platform for delivering superior returns," says Peter Loach, Sprott Asset Management’s executive vice president of product development.
