Insynergy Investment Management has appointed David Stead as business development director.

Stead joins with 17 years of asset management experience, 15 of which were with Skandia where he was regional sales manager based in Leeds.

He will be responsible for developing the distribution of Insynergy’s range of funds in the North of England and Scotland regions.

Stead will report to Matthew Deeprose, head of business development (UK retail).

“My role at Skandia gave me great experience of a wide variety of aspects of the funds industry.  However, Insynergy’s approach and philosophy are highly compelling and come at a time when investors are looking for something new and different. The business has ambitious plans for 2010 and beyond, so to join the company at this stage is very exciting,” says Stead.

Spike Hughes, Insynergy chief executive and founder, says: “Core to our strategy is our drive to build a team of seasoned professionals and David’s appointment is further evidence of that strategy in action. David has a proven track record, and his experience and business sense make him an important addition to the team.”

Insynergy Y Investment Management launched to the UK retail funds marketplace in October 2008. Established by Hughes, previously of Skandia Investment Management and Hargreaves Lansdown, the company is backed among others by Dragons’ Den star and serial entrepreneur James Caan who is also Insynergy chairman.
