Cavendish Asset Management has appointed Neil Mitchell and Deepti Goyal as portfolio manager and senior analyst respectively, as part of its ongoing expansion into the retail market.

The boutique investment company launched two UK funds earlier this year – UK Select and UK Balanced – following five funds launches in 2009.

Mitchell joins Cavendish with over five years’ experience in financial services. He has spent the past two years working as an investment manager for Adam and Company where he co-managed UK small/mid cap and AIM products. As portfolio manager, he will support Cavendish’s retail offering around UK equities.

Goyal joins Cavendish from Redburn Partners, where she has spent the last three years working as a sell-side analyst covering IT and Software. She has over seven years’ experience in financial services. She will provide resources for Cavendish fund managers.

Mitchell says: “Cavendish is an ambitious boutique asset management company, focused on intelligent investment, and I’m delighted to join it at an exciting point in its history. I look forward to bringing my experience and skills to bear on the day to day management of its funds, as the company continues to expand into the retail space following the launch of no less than seven new funds in the last two years.”

Julian Lewis, chief executive of Cavendish Asset Management, adds: “Neil and Deepti are both superb additions to the expanding Cavendish team, with proven ability and solid track records within their given fields. Cavendish’s strong history growing new funds, alongside the continuing global economic recovery and resurgence in equity investment, will provide the ideal climate for Neil and Deepti, as well as a compelling proposition for investors seeking simple, long-term value investments they can trust.”
