Matrix hires UK real estate team from JP Morgan Cazenove


Matrix has hired a UK real estate research, sales, trading and corporate finance team from JP Morgan Cazenove.

The team comprises Roger Clarke, Carl Gough, Miranda Cockburn, Jason Cockburn and, newly recruited, Alison Watson.
Malcolm Le May, chief executive of investment banking at Matrix, says: “Matrix is delighted to welcome such a market leading and well respected team from JP Morgan Cazenove. They bring a wealth of experience and a deep knowledge of the real estate sector and I am confident that they will make an invaluable contribution to Matrix’s equity research and trading business and its existing expertise of both fund raising and managing real estate."
Clarke, partner, head of real estate corporate finance, has broad experience gained in domestic and cross border M&A transactions and raising equity and debt capital market transactions. At JP Morgan Cazenove he was a director in the real estate corporate finance team. In 2007 he was recruited by ING Real Estate as managing director to be UK head of its real estate capital markets and advisory business. 
Miranda Cockburn, partner, head of real estate research, equities, was formerly with JP Morgan Cazenove where she was managing director, real estate equity research. Prior to this she worked at CSFB in real estate equity research and United Bank of Kuwait in real estate finance.
Gough, partner, real estate specialist sales, equities, joins from JP Morgan Cazenove where he was managing director, real estate specialist sales. Prior to this Gough, together with Miranda Cockburn, co-headed the seven strong Pan European real estate team at CSFB.
Jason Cockburn, partner, real estate sales trading, equities, joins from JP Morgan Cazenove after 23 years with the company, where he was director responsible for real estate specialist sales trading.
Watson, senior analyst real estate research, joins from UBS where she was associate director, European real estate equity research for over four years from December 2004, starting out in December 2002 as research assistant, European real estate and European small-cap equity research.
