The Swiss banking group Syz has appointed Xavier Guillon as chief executive of its Oyster Funds investment funds division.

He is taking over from Alan Mudie, who will head the new Syz fund research department.

Previously Guillon managed the services to independent asset managers of Syz.

The Oyster Funds family of Luxembourg Sicav investment funds currently numbers 26 separate sub-funds, which are registered in nine European countries and marketed to a clientele of professional intermediaries and institutional investors.

Prior to Syz, Guillon had worked for 14 years in New York and London for Brown Brothers Harriman, where he was in charge of the team selling research to institutional clients.

“Thanks to his dynamism and his professional career, Xavier Guillon is particularly well-qualified to successfully meet the demands of a highly competitive market and to keep Oyster Funds on the road to growth,” says Alfredo Piacentini, a managing partner of Syz and in charge of the investment funds business.
