Schroders has appointed Philippe Lespinard to the newly created role of chief investment officer fixed income, effective from 1 November 2010.
He will report to Karl Dasher, head of Schroders’ fixed income business.
Lespinard will take direct management responsibility for the global multi-strategy fixed income team and chair the global fixed income investment committee that covers all portfolios.
Lespinard was a partner and head of absolute return strategies at Brevan Howard in London, as well as chief investment officer for BNP Paribas Asset Management in Paris and deputy chief executive officer of Fischer, Francis Trees and Watts.
Dasher says: “We are delighted that Philippe is joining Schroders in the newly created role of chief investment officer fixed income. Our global fixed income business has grown to nearly USD50bn AUM in recent years and the addition of someone of Philippe’s calibre, will ensure that we realise our full potential, particularly in the area of global multi-strategy mandates.”
