Coupland Cardiff Asset Management, an Asian fund manager, has launched the CC Asian Evolution Fund.
The fund aims to offer investors direct access to Asia’s domestic growth story via the consumer sector.
A Dublin Oeic, Ucits-compliant product, the fund is long-biased and insured with long equity index puts.
It aims to invest in 25 to 40 stocks and given the relative immaturity of the sector they will typically, but not exclusively, be small/mid cap stocks.
The fund will have USD and Sterling share classes. The target fund size is USD350m. The fund is not offered to US investors.
Rory Dickson is the portfolio manager. Based in Coupland Cardiff’s new Singapore office, Dickson will be supported by Damian Kestel. They joined Coupland Cardiff in the summer of 2010.
Richard Cardiff, chief executive officer of Coupland Cardiff, says: ”As we celebrate the company’s fifth anniversary, we are delighted to announce CCAM’s fifth new Asian fund and a new office in Singapore. With pan-regional access from India to Australia, ex Japan, we hope that the CC Asian Evolution Fund will address growing investor appetite for a high-quality, pan-regional focused approach to the rapidly developing consumer sector in Asia, unavailable in many of the large Asian funds today.“
