Gries Financial, a registered investment adviser serving high net worth and institutional clients, has appointed Edward J. Bell as president.

Bell has served as senior managing director in charge of the firm’s wealth management practice since 1994.

In his new capacity, Bell will oversee the day-to-day operational duties of running the firm while continuing his work as senior managing director of wealth management.

Sally Gries, the firm’s founder and chief executive officer, says: “This is an exciting time for the firm. Ed has provided certain leadership to the firm and our clients. He is a trusted advisor whose clients rely on him for objective and thoughtful guidance. He will continue to serve the financial needs of high net worth individuals and families out of the firm’s Cleveland and Cincinnati offices.”

Gries will continue her duties as chief executive and investment committee chair while focusing on the future direction of the firm.

Prior to joining Gries Financial, Bell served in client management roles with Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) and International Management Group.
