RELATED TOPICS

iShares, the exchange-traded funds platform of BlackRock, has appointed David Gardner as head of sales for iShares EMEA.

Based in London and reporting to Joe Linhares, the managing director and head of EMEA for iShares, Gardner will be responsible for driving iShares’ sales effort across the region.

He joined iShares in 2000 and has fulfilled multiple executive roles for the business in the US and Asia Pacific since.

Gardner was most recently head of Northern Europe sales for iShares and also serves on the iShares EMEA executive committee and the BlackRock EMEA operating committee, responsibilities he will continue to fulfil in his new role.

Linhares says: “The growth potential for ETFs throughout EMEA is enormous, and the region is a key market for iShares as investors continue to develop their understanding of ETFs and deploy the funds in new and innovative ways. iShares continues to maintain its number one spot in this region with strong asset growth in both our equity and fixed income ETF range. Year to date iShares has received the lion’s share of European net inflows with over USD10bn.”
