Henderson Global Investors launches emerging markets opportunities fund

Henderson Global Investors has launched the Henderson Emerging Markets Opportunities Fund, which will seek long-term capital growth by investing at least 80 per cent of its net assets in the equity securities of companies whose principal business activities are located in emerging market countries.

The investment performance of the fund, which began trading December 31, 2010, will be derived primarily from stock selection. A strategic asset allocation process will be a secondary and less important contributor to the investment process. Assets of the fund are allocated to teams of managers who have experience with respect to a particular geographic region.

“The launch of the Henderson Emerging Markets Opportunities Fund is particularly exciting for us as a firm," says Chuck Thompson, Henderson’s Director of US Retail Distribution. "We believe we can provide a truly differentiated offering for clients to participate in the rise of the developing world and the long-term growth that we believe nearly 900 million new consumers will drive over the next decade.”

In addition to the Emerging Markets Fund, Henderson also debuted A and C retail share classes for the Henderson International All Cap Equity Fund (HFNAX, HFNCX). The International All Cap Equity Fund (Class I Shares, HIEIX) was launched on January 31, 2008, and was the first Henderson mutual fund offered exclusively to US institutional investors. The fund follows a bottom-up All Cap strategy and focuses primarily on the developed markets of Europe, Australasia and the Far East (EAFE). Selective investments are also made in emerging markets.

The Henderson Global Funds family also includes eight other mutual funds: European Focus Fund, Global Equity Income Fund, Global Opportunities Fund, Global Technology Fund, International Opportunities Fund, Japan-Asia Focus Fund, Money Market Fund, and Worldwide Income Fund. The company also runs several separately managed accounts products.
