SPDR ETFs benefit from class action settlement

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund have both received payments as authorised claimants from a class action settlement related to UnitedHealth Group Inc.

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust received USD2.75m while the payment made to the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund totalled USD437,724. Based on the shares outstanding as of January 3, 2011, the impact on the funds’ NAV is expected to be USD0.0038 and USD0.0050 respectively.
