Nerine staff gain STEP diplomas

Four staff at Nerine Group’s Guernsey office have gained professional qualifications in the past nine months.

Of the 59 staff, 22 are now fully qualified with a further 14 members of staff currently taking exams in areas ranging from trust and accountancy work to compliance and anti-money laundering.

Donna Brehaut and Phil Tindal (pictured) have both gained their STEP diploma in International Trust Management, becoming qualified trust practitioners, while Sarah Craig is now a fully qualified accountant with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Adele Perrot has qualified as a company secretary under the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

Group Executive Chairman Keith Corbin said the latest round of newly-qualified staff was indicative of the company’s culture to strive for excellence.

“Our newly-qualified people, and those studying for their qualifications, join a group of professionals at Nerine working to ensure they are the best at what they do and this can only engender even greater confidence in our clients to be able to provide a high level of expertise and service across the board,” he says.

“We are conscious of the need to ensure that the quality of our relationships with our clients, often spanning several generations, is matched by the second and third generations of our staff who can clearly demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and quality of service and we have done that here with the newest group of young professionals.”

Nerine has also made a physical commitment to business expansion in Guernsey, increasing its office space by 11,000 square feet and incorporating a range of new facilities in its headquarters in St George’s Place.

As well as expanding to build a new board room with state of the art facilities, two new meeting rooms have been built as well as a massive file storage facility.

Reinforcing the business’ commitment to training part of the new building is a large dedicated training room.
