Longbow launches ‘Boots’ fund

RELATED TOPICS

Longbow Capital LLP, the British innovation investor, has launched a tax-efficient fund which supports tomorrow’s technology today.

The Longbow Growth and Income VCT offers the possibility for investment in the UK’s growing healthcare technology sector. The VCT has a unique link to Boots stores. Products are already available on the shelf, while others are being developed in its innovation centre in Swansea. This makes the investment a very accessible opportunity with real benefits for investors and their families  – and the wider UK R&D industry.

Products developed at the Boots Centre for Innovation that the fund may invest in include the AmbulightPDT LED light product from Ambicare which treats non melanoma skin cancer. The product is already being used in hospitals, but has been designed to be marketed for use at home. The Smooth Skin hair removal system, developed by CyDen, is already available in Boots stores.

Ben Yearsley, Head of VCT Research at Hargreaves Lansdown says: “Longbow are an interesting addition to the VCT sector. They have created a niche in the EIS world and are attempting to transfer that to the VCT space and I see no reason why they shouldn’t be successful.”
