Iveagh Private Investment House (Iveagh), the Guinness family office and asset management firm, has announced the launch of the Iveagh Core Portfolios, a range of six multi-asset, globally diversified, risk-rated funds which aim to provide enhanced returns for investors whilst never breaching their risk profile.
The Iveagh Core Portfolios have been aligned with the Towers Watson psychometric risk profiling questionnaire. Forecasts are produced using Towers Watson’s Global CAP:Link asset model which is used by institutional investors, pension funds and insurers.
The Iveagh Core Portfolio funds comprise: Iveagh Cautious Portfolio (Risk Level 3); Iveagh Moderate Portfolio (Risk Level 4); Iveagh Balanced Portfolio (Risk Level 5); Iveagh Growth Portfolio (Risk Level 6); Iveagh Income Portfolio (Risk Level 7); and Iveagh Adventurous Portfolio (Risk Level 7).
The funds are managed by the same investment managers who manage the Iveagh private client accounts. They also use the same asset allocation process that Iveagh uses for the Iveagh Wealth Fund (launched in September 2008 and currently GBP242 million in size) and to preserve and grow capital for their family office clients, which include key members of the Guinness family.
John Ricciardi (pictured), lead fund manager of the Iveagh Wealth Fund and Iveagh Core Portfolios says: “This is a revolution in risk-rated funds because the process recognises that over time a fund’s returns will be a function of the risk an investor is prepared to take. We are offering risk-rated funds with an in-built wealth management service. Our dynamic asset allocation process enhances returns by lowering the risk allocation in anticipation of falling markets, preserving capital and any market gains and allowing the funds to return to their full risk allocations from a higher base.”
Chris Wyllie, co-fund manager of the Iveagh Wealth Fund and Iveagh Core Portfolios adds: “For the first time, financial advisers and their clients have the opportunity to access a sophisticated, family office-style wealth management service through a range of daily-dealing, risk rated UCITS funds. Unlike some funds which focus only on major asset classes and active managers, the Iveagh Core range brings together both active and passive strategies across a total of 27 asset classes worldwide, providing a truly global approach to portfolio diversification.”
In addition to the five standard risk-rated funds, Iveagh also offers an income fund which will give the same broad portfolio diversification plus the added benefit of an attractive yield.
Wyllie says: “Globally diversified portfolios often struggle to provide a good income yield because large parts of the portfolio – such as specialist and private equity, absolute return and natural resources – yield little or nothing at all. We have re-engineered the portfolio construction to still offer exposure to all asset classes, but, through innovative security and manager selection, also yield good income.”
