Standard Life has added Skandia’s Spectrum range to its FundZone, Wrap, International Bond and SIPP platforms.
Since launch in April 2008, the Skandia Spectrum range with a funds size of GBP843m (as at 31 January 2011) has proved to be increasingly popular with advisers reflecting the increased demand for risk-rated solutions across the major platforms. The Skandia Spectrum range is also on six other platforms: Ascentric, CoFunds, Nucleus, Skandia Investment Solutions, Transact, and Fidelity FundsNetwork.
The launch of Spectrum on Standard Life’s platforms significantly extends the availability of the funds to the UK advisory market.
SIG chief sales & marketing officer Rob Williams says: “To be on the Standard Life platforms will provide an excellent opportunity for our Spectrum range to be available to a wider audience of advisers and clients. In addition, this will enable advisers using the Standard Life platforms to build a robust and compliant investment solution for their clients."
The six Spectrum funds were originally designed in conjunction with Towers Watson’s risk mapping tools and have been available since launch on the Skandia Investment Solutions Platform and its life and pensions fund range.
The Spectrum funds, which are managed by Skandia Investment Group (SIG) are regularly reviewed and automatically rebalanced to ensure they remain in line with the stated volatility targets. Unlike most funds, which are rated on performance relative to a peer group, the Spectrum funds aim to maximise investment returns within these set volatility targets.
