Bank Julius Baer & Co has appointed Bernhard Hodler, Member of the Executive Boards of Julius Baer Group and Bank Julius Baer, as new Chief Operating Officer (COO) as of 1 April 2011. The creation of the COO function will further strengthen the Bank’s organisation and the transformation of its business model, facilitating the implementation of its growth strategy.
As Chief Operating Officer, Bernard Hodler will be responsible for providing the means to further align the business model of Bank Julius Baer with the changing private banking landscape. At the same time, he has to provide the framework and resources for the implementation of the Bank’s profitable growth strategy. Thus, he is responsible for the global operations as well as for the control and the mitigation of risks. Consequently, the areas Risk, Legal & Compliance, IT & Operations and Shared Services report directly to Bernhard Hodler.
“I am very pleased that Bernhard Hodler will assume the new function as COO of Bank Julius Baer. With his in-depth banking knowledge, his long-standing track record in risk, legal and compliance matters and his vast management expertise, Bernhard Hodler is the ideal person for this demanding job,” says Boris FJ Collardi (pictured), Chief Executive Officer of Bank Julius Baer. “We are convinced that the creation of the COO function and Bernhard Hodler’s appointment will further advance our Bank, enabling us to strengthen our position as the leading Swiss private banking group.”
