7Twelve Advisors launches new balanced fund

7Twelve Advisors has launched the 7Twelve Balanced Fund (NASDAQ: SEVNX), which seeks to provide superior risk-adjusted returns when compared to the bond and equity markets within a balanced fund structure.

"7Twelve" refers to a diversified investment strategy of 7 asset classes: US stocks, non-US stocks, US bonds, non-US bonds, real estate, commodities and cash, and further sub-divided into twelve equally weighted index-based funds," says Craig L Israelsen, PhD, founder of the 7Twelve™ strategy and Chief Investment Officer of 7Twelve Advisors, LLC. "The 7Twelve model is a straight-forward and transparent recipe for building a balanced fund. It’s based on repeatable simple logic, not special skill."

The fund’s assets are equally weighted, so performance does not rely on forecasting or timing. The managers believe that index-based funds and passive management are more reliable investment methods than typical actively managed funds. Assets are rebalanced on a periodic basis.

The 7Twelve Balanced Fund offers advisors and investors access to a fully diversified portfolio in one fund. As a rationale for the strategy, portfolio manager Andy Martin says: "The market losses of 2008, and the nine years preceding it — the worst 10 years in market history — showed us that stocks and bonds are not the answer to every investment question. True diversification comes from investing in each of the major asset classes."
