STOXX Europe 600 sector ETFs see USD220m net outflows

STOXX Europe 600 sector ETFs saw net outflows of USD220.2m for the week ending 6 May. The largest sector ETF net outflows last week were in utilities with USD75.6m followed by insurance with USD75.4m net outflows while chemicals experienced net inflows of USD108.6m.

 

Year to date, STOXX Europe 600 sector ETFs have seen USD557.3m net inflows. Oil and gas has seen the largest net inflows with USD467.2m, followed by banks with USD294.5m net inflows while basic resources experienced the largest net outflows with USD181.5m.

As of 06 May 2011, there is USD11.1 Bn AUM invested in the STOXX sector ETFs which is almost double the USD6.4 Bn open interest in the sector futures. The ETF AUM is greater than the open interest in the corresponding futures contract in 15 out of 19 sectors.
