Boston Private Bank & Trust adds accomplished portfolio managers to investment management team

Boston Private Bank & Trust Company has appointed four senior Portfolio Managers, expanding the Bank’s investment management area by providing additional expertise to its existing team of experienced managers. These appointments will enhance the Bank’s investment management capabilities by bringing decades of various applied experience and investment expertise to the investment team.

"This strategic expansion of our team helps to strengthen our expertise, expand our investment platform, and enables us to further deepen relationships with clients, offering a customized investment approach that is the hallmark of the Bank," says Jay Henderson, Executive Vice President/Investment Management & Trust, Boston Private Bank & Trust Company.

Boston Private Bank’s investment management team members average twenty years of investment expertise with proven track records of success and strong technical knowledge of investment opportunities for both private and institutional clients. New appointments include:

Carl J (CJ) Young, Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager. Young’s responsibilities include managing individual and institutional accounts, investment research and economic analysis.

David M Goss, CFA, Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager with responsibilities that include strategic development and implementation of the Bank’s investment platform to provide an expanded array of investment opportunities for clients.

William R Lavelle, CFA and Kelly C McKernan have both been named Vice President and Portfolio Manager. Responsibilities include managing individual and institutional accounts, investment research, and economic analysis.

In addition, the following employees have been promoted:

Christopher J O’Connell, to Sales Manager, responsible for managing the Bank’s expert team of sales professionals in addition to his role as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager.

Jason T O’Connell, CFA, CAIA, to Director of Research, responsible for overseeing the analyst staff; coordinating in-house primary research; managing the relationships with and budget allocations to the firm’s external research, brokerage, and analytics technology providers in addition to his role as Vice President and Portfolio Manager.
