STOXX Europe 600 sector ETFs see outflows of USD160.4m


STOXX Europe 600 sector ETFs saw net outflows of USD160.4m for the week ending 5 Augst 2011. The largest sector ETF net outflows last week were in telecommunications with USD97.6m followed by banks with USD41.9m net outflows while insurance experienced net inflows of USD27.4m.

Year to date, STOXX Europe 600 sector ETFs have seen USD38.0m net outflows. Utilities has seen the largest net outflows with USD242.4m, followed by basic resources with USD214.9m net outflows, while healthcare experienced the largest net inflows with USD280.2m.
As of 05 August 2011, there is USD8.7bn AUM invested in the STOXX sector ETFs which is greater than the USD5.7bn open interest in the sector futures. The ETF AUM is greater than the open interest in the corresponding futures contract in 15 out of 19 sectors.
