Eden launches high conviction UK Select Opportunities Fund

RELATED TOPICS

Eden Financial has launched CF Eden UK Select Opportunities Fund, the firm’s newest OEIC portfolio. The fund will be run by Leigh Himsworth, who has over 20 years’ investment experience during which he headed up the UK equity team at Gartmore, having previously worked at Royal London and Rensburg.

Head of Asset Management, Ed Rosengarten (pictured), says: “Eden’s stated objective is to hire talented fund managers and create a compelling range of funds for investors. In this fund launch we have the optimal combination of a high calibre manager and a fund that is highly relevant for clients. Leigh brings to Eden not only many years of UK equity experience but an impressive track record that has weathered the harshest market conditions. Eden provides Leigh with an investment-led and client-centric culture that enables him to concentrate entirely on managing this exciting new portfolio.”

Leigh Himsworth says: “This fund is a 40 to 60 stock ‘high conviction’ portfolio, with significant exposure in UK mid and small cap companies that are ‘slightly off the radar’ offering excellent value and the prospects of higher growth. My approach centres on a thorough investigation of companies enabling our investors to access exciting investment opportunities in a risk controlled way.

“Hugging an index is not my idea of delivering value to clients, especially as it is likely to contain a large element of risk. I’m committed to doing the legwork and to uncovering ‘gems’, not tiny companies but those that have escaped the glare of publicity. Each of the fund’s investments will contribute something different to the portfolio and I will seldom duplicate ideas. I use a highly disciplined approach to monitor individual stocks and run a well-diversified portfolio. More importantly, I never forget that my goal is to generate returns for investors.”
