Harneys establishes Cayman Islands trusts practice

Offshore law firm Harneys has established a trusts practice in the Cayman Islands headed up by trusts lawyer Henry Mander who joined the firm in January.

Mander has relocated to the Cayman Islands where he will advise the firm’s international client base on wide range of offshore trust solutions.

Head of the Cayman Office Kieron O’Rourke says: “We have seen an increasing demand for sophisticated advice on the use of trust structures in both personal and financial planning for clients and this is very much behind the development of our Cayman trusts practice. Henry’s addition to the team at Harneys in Cayman will enable us to offer the full spectrum of trusts advice to our clients."

Mander has more than eight years of experience advising individual and commercial clients on the creation, administration and termination of complex international trusts.

“Cayman, like BVI, offers an attractive and flexible legislative framework for trusts. Our clients have shown a great deal of interest in these structures and so I am delighted that I am now in Cayman working full steam on the development of our offerings in this field.”

In addition to providing Cayman trust advice, Mander along with BVI-based trusts lawyer Lawrie Kearns will continue to assist clients with BVI trust matters.
