Sanlam appoints real investment specialist

Sanlam Fund Solutions, a division of Principal Investment Management, has appointed Barry Cowen to lead the investment management and development of its UK’s range of retail investment products, managed by Principal under its Sanlam Fund Solutions brand.

Cowen previously worked for SocGen Investment Management, George Petch International, and most recently Titan Fund Management.

Hugh Titcomb, Principal’s CEO, says: “We are delighted to be announcing this appointment. Barry has a strong track record as a fund manager and his experience will strengthen our investment proposition in a key part of our business. Sanlam Fund Solutions is a significant business for Principal and its assets are growing rapidly, helped by the use of Sanlam’s Accel risk profiling tool which is gaining significant traction in the run up to RDR.

"Barry’s appointment is a further endorsement of our commitment to providing excellent investment management services to clients and our IFA partners.”
