On-exchange ETP turnover down 20%, says Lyxor


On-exchange ETP turnover last week fell by 20% on the previous week to EUR10.7bn, according to the latest weekly trading report from Lyxor ETFs.

Underlying equity market activity (measured by the STOXX Europe 600 Index turnover) fell by 5.8% on the previous week to EUR103bn, Reported on exchange ETP trading was 10.38% of the equivalent equity market activity.
Lyxor was ranked number two in terms of market share during the week with 22.4% on a 20-day basis with iShares at number one with market share of 28.2%. On a five-day basis Lyxor was ranked number two with 21.42% market share, iShares market share on a five-day basis increased to 31.8%.

Deutsche Boerse market share meanwhile was 33.31% on a 20-day basis and 33.71% on a five-day basis.
Sector turnover rose fractionally during the week, while regional turnover was resilient with only a modest 7% decrease. The largest decreases were seen in the Country and Non Delta 1 trading areas following last week’s higher levels.
