Ingenious launches Vindemia 2 EIS Wine Fund

RELATED TOPICS

UK based investment and advisory group Ingenious Investments has launched the Vindemia 2 EIS Fund (Vindemia 2), the successor to its first Vindemia EIS Fund, which successfully closed in July 2011.

Utilising Ingenious’ leading EIS fund management expertise, Vindemia 2 offers investors the potential for strong capital growth from an investment in the fine wine market that also benefits from significant downside protection. Vindemia 2 investments will qualify for a range of attractive benefits offered by the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS), including 30% income tax relief on investments of up to GBP500,000.

Vindemia 2, for which Ingenious is looking to raise GBP10million, is targeting average annual post-tax returns for investors of 22.7%.

The fine wine market is characterised by strong and consistent growth driven by restricted supply and growing global demand. Vindemia 2 offers investors a conservative route to access these compelling economic dynamics by investing in specialist EIS qualifying companies trading in mature, globally recognised fine wines from the world’s most respected producers and regions. This active trading strategy is designed to enable the companies to adapt quickly to market movements and deliver strong and consistent profitability resulting in meaningful capital growth for investors.

To assist in the execution of this innovative strategy, Ingenious has again partnered with industry veteran and respected stock picker Peter Lunzer, who will act as the principal wine trader for the Vindemia 2 wine trading companies.

Dylan Jones, Director at Ingenious Investments, says: “In a challenging and uncertain investment environment, our Vindemia funds provide investors with an exciting opportunity to target meaningful capital growth combined with a core focus on capital preservation.

“We are delighted to be working with Peter Lunzer again on Vindemia 2. Peter’s many years of experience in all aspects of the industry, his encyclopaedic knowledge of the finest and most commercially attractive wines available and his excellent track record of delivering returns for fine wine investors make him the perfect partner for our Vindemia funds.”

Peter Lunzer, Founder of Lunzer Wine Investments, says: “Ingenious’ fund management expertise is well known, but what attracts me most to this partnership is their creative approach to providing access for their investors to this exciting sector within a carefully managed framework.

“Vindemia 2 presents an excellent opportunity for UK taxpayers to generate returns from the fine wine market. The target returns for Vindemia 2 reflect a conservative estimation of what can be delivered through effective implementation of this strategy.”

Vindemia 2 has a minimum investment level of GBP10,000 and will close for investment on 2 April 2012.

Ingenious is a leading manager of EIS investments, raising over £280m of funds for EIS investments since 2005 and providing advice and operational assistance to more than 150 EIS qualifying investee companies.
