Ranger enters MF marketplace with launch of two new funds

Ranger Capital Group, a platform for a number of institutionally-oriented investment management firms, has launched two new mutual funds: The Ranger Small Cap Fund and the The Ranger Quest for Income and Growth Fund.

The firm launched the mutual fund series in response to inquiries from Ranger’s institutional clients and the consulting community.

Ranger Investment Management, L.P. serves as investment adviser to the Small Cap Fund and Ranger International Management (TX), LP serves as investment adviser to the Quest for Income and Growth Fund. The advisers provide investment management services to individuals and institutional investors such as pooled investment vehicles, governmental entities and the Funds. As of 31 December, 2011, the advisers had approximately USD1.2 billion in aggregate assets under management. Each Ranger Portfolio Manager has more than 20 years of investment management experience.

The Ranger Small Cap Fund is managed by Conrad Doenges and his seasoned team of investment professionals. The Ranger Small Cap Fund seeks long-term capital appreciation by managing risk and preserving capital by investing in growth-oriented US exchange traded equities of small capitalisation companies. Ranger’s investment team employs a disciplined, consistent approach to both security selection and risk management. The investment team searches for quality growth companies by implementing a bottom-up, fundamental research driven security selection process. The focus in the research process is on identifying small capitalisation domestic equities characterised by accelerating revenue and earnings growth, high recurring revenues, strong balance sheets and free cash flow generation.

The Ranger Quest for Income and Growth Fund is managed by William Andersen, CFA and his seasoned team of investment professionals. The Ranger Quest for Income and Growth Fund seeks long-term growth of capital while providing current income by investing globally in an array of high yielding securities, primarily equities, which provide meaningful current income combined with the potential for capital appreciation. To achieve the fund’s objectives, the Ranger team employs a bottom-up, fundamental research approach to investing in high yielding equities, convertible and preferred securities, closed-end bond funds, master limited partnerships and real estate investment trusts that it believes will provide returns balanced between income and capital appreciation.
