SLI signs GARS deal with John Hancock

Standard Life Investments has teamed up with John Hancock Mutual Funds to make its award-winning GARS Fund available to the United States retail marketplace.

The fund is named John Hancock Global Absolute Return Strategies Fund and is placed in the Speciality Fund Category with Standard Life Investments providing portfolio management services as sub-adviser. The new fund will be offered both as a stand-alone member of the John Hancock family of retail funds, and will also be a component of the John Hancock Alternative Asset Allocation fund as well as several of the John Hancock Lifestyle funds.

Keith Skeoch, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Life Investments, says: “This agreement not only widens our distribution footprint in the US institutional and wholesale market but allows us to work with a leading distributor to help deliver potential for our global clients. In difficult current market and economic conditions, clients will now be able to benefit from Standard Life Investments’ investment expertise through John Hancock Funds."
